ANDERSON COUNTY
 ZOOM REMOTE HEARING GUIDE


  1. Fill out the online Contact information sheet: Click Here
  2. Call the District Court Office at 785-448-6886 as soon as possible.
  3. A Zoom Meeting Invite Number will be given to you and a time to join the meeting if your hearing is with an hour. A Zoom meeting invite will be sent to your email address, either by your attorney if you have one or the court if you do not have an attorney, if your hearing date and time is not within an hour.
  4. Join the hearing remotely as soon as possible at the time given.
  5. If you have or have access to a smart phone or computer, you can download the Zoom app (if you don't already have it) or use the web browser for the Zoom page.
  6. Note – NO ZOOM ACCOUNT IS REQUIRED and you may use another person's phone or computer to appear via Zoom.
  7. The meeting ID is listed in the invitation. Use the "Join Meeting" from the Zoom app and input the meeting ID number.
  8. Once you have joined the meeting, you will be put in the waiting room until the Judge brings you into the meeting.
  9. If possible, please change your display name to your name. If you cannot do so, the Judge will bring you into the meeting to identify you and then put you back in the waiting room.

Please watch your screen so that you know when your case is called. 

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SMART PHONE OR ACCESS TO A TABLET OR COMPUTER FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF:

All should appear by zoom video, if not then by calling this zoom phone number #1-646-558-8656 (you then will enter meeting ID number) If a person is appearing by phone, they must provide the Court with the number to identify caller. Call the number listed above and enter the meeting ID. You will be placed in the "waiting room" and all other instructions above apply.

THE COURT STRONGLY PREFERS YOU APPEAR ON VIDEO VIA ZOOM. CASES HEARD THROUGH ZOOM VIDEO MAY BE RESOLVED IN A TIMELY MANNER. COURTS NEED TO BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY LITIGANTS, AND THIS CAN'T BE DONE WHEN LITIGANTS APPEAR ONLY BY ZOOM PHONE.
