At the County Weed Directors Association of Kansas (CWDAK) annual meeting in March, Franklin County Noxious Weed Director Pat Campbell was presented with the 2022 Public Relations Award. To earn the award, Pat worked the noxious weed booth at the Four State Farm Show, the noxious weed booth at the Kansas State Fair, hosted a grower meeting, and provided public education locally and statewide throughout the year on noxious weeds.

At the annual meeting, Pat was elected as the Vice President on the CWDAK Board. He also serves as Secretary for the Southeast Kansas District.

Pat is known for his expertise and knowledge of noxious weeds and is looked to for leadership and guidance by those at CWDAK. We are very fortunate to have someone as knowledgeable and skilled working on our behalf and on behalf of the citizens of Franklin County.

CWDAK aims to improve the noxious weed program in Kansas, improve the status of county weed directors, provide a forum to discuss common problems facing weed directors, and a general support of agriculture as well as noxious weed impacts on the agriculture economics in Kansas.
