  5. PUBLIC COMMENT:  A citizen desiring to speak on an item not on the agenda may do so at this time.  Discussion is limited to five minutes and the Commission will not take action or discuss items at this time.  Items introduced under “Public Comment” may become agenda items at a later date.

  6. CONSENT AGENDA:  Items listed on the “Consent Agenda” are considered routine and shall be enacted by one motion of the Board of Commissioners with no separate discussion.  If separate discussion is desired by a member of the Governing Body, that item may be removed from the “Consent Agenda” and placed on the regular agenda “Items of Business.”

    1. Consider the approval of the minutes of the County Commission meeting of August 29, 2007.

    2. Consider the approval of claim vouchers and tax change orders.

    3. Consider the approval of payroll from July 21st to August 20th.

  7. ITEMS OF BUSINESS:  Items of business includes all timed items, bids, contracts and agreements, public hearings and organizational business coming before the Governing Body.

    1. Consider the approval of Rezoning Application #0707-775 to rezone approximately 42.50 acres from an A-2, Transitional Agricultural District, to an A-1, Agricultural District, to rezone approximately 20.00 acres from an R-E, Residential Estate District, to an A-2, Transitional Agricultural District, and to rezone approximately 32.70 acres from an A-1, Agricultural District, to an A-2, Transitional Agricultural District, located on the South side of Woodson road between Ohio Road and Oregon Road.

    2. Consider the approval of Rezoning Application #0707-777 to rezone approximately 40.00 acres from an A-1, Agricultural District, to an A-2, Transitional Agricultural District, located on the West side of Alabama Road, South of Labette Road and North of Kingman Road.

    3. Consider the approval of a Resolution installing a stop sign for westbound riley Road at the intersection of Indiana Road and Riley Road.

    4. Consider the approval of a request to advertise for bids and approve the plans & specifications for an overlay of Nevada Terrace south K-68 Highway.

    5. Consider the approval of an agreement to accept Emergency Equipment from the Homeland Security Regional Council.

    6. Consider the approval of a request to close the Transfer Station at 2:30 p.m. on September 14th and reopen at 7:30 a.m. September 17th to repair asphalt repair work.

    7. Consider the approval of a request to solicit bids for the 2007 audit services.

    8. Discuss plans and format for the Southeast Kansas County Officials Association Conference on October 18th.
