  4. INVOCATION:  Led by Reverend Leonard Cheasbro with New Life in Christ Church.

  5. CORRESPONDENCE & ORGANIZATIONAL BUSINESS

    1. 9:00 - Receive an update from the Kansas State Insurance Commissioner Ms. Sandy Praeger.

  6. PUBLIC COMMENT:  A citizen desiring to speak on an item not on the agenda may do so at this time.  Discussion is limited to five minutes and the Commission will not take action or discuss items at this time.  Items introduced under “Public Comment” may become agenda items at a later date.

  7. CONSENT AGENDA:  Items listed on the “Consent Agenda” are considered routine and shall be enacted by one motion of the Board of Commissioners with no separate discussion.  If separate discussion is desired by a member of the Governing Body, that item may be removed from the “Consent Agenda” and placed on the regular agenda “Items of Business.”

    1. Consider the approval of the minutes of the County Commission meeting of November 14th and 15th, 2007.

    2. Consider the approval of claim vouchers and tax change orders.

  8. ITEMS OF BUSINESS:  Items of business includes all timed items, bids, contracts and agreements, public hearings and organizational business coming before the Governing Body.

    1. Consider the approval of Special Use Permit Application #0709-792, for the operation of a wind energy conversion system located on the South side of Shawnee Road approximately 1/2 mile East of Colorado Road.

    2. Consider the approval of Agreement No. 175-07 for Emergency Flood Relief on the Federal Aid System between Franklin County and the Kansas Department of Transportation.

    3. Consider the approval of a Resolution to prohibit parking in the 3200 block of Nevada Terrace.

    4. Consider the approval of Change Order No. 1 to the Nevada Road Contract.

    5. Consider the approval of a request to purchase 12 Motor Grader Tires from Poindexter Tires.

    6. Consider the approval of a request to award a bid for an F-550 Cab & Chassis for the Public Works Department.

    7. Consider the approval of a request to award a bid for two F-350 Cab & Chassis for the Public Works Department.

    8. Consider the approval of a request to award a bid for two pickup trucks for the Public Works Department.

    9. Consider the approval of a request to award a bid for a Gooseneck Trailer for the Public Works Department.

    10. Consider the approval of a request to award a bid for an F-250 pickup truck for the Ambulance Department.

    11. Consider the approval of a request to purchase three Ferno EZ-Glide Stair Chairs for the Ambulance Department.

    12. Consider the approval of EMS write-offs for the month of September in the amount of $11,434.47.

    13. Consider the approval of the Annex Lease Agreement, 1418 S. Main, Suite 3, between Franklin County, Kansas and the 4th Judicial District Community Corrections to become effective March 1, 2008, to expire February 28, 2011.

    14. Consider the approval of the Annex Lease Agreement, 1418 S. Main, Suite 6, between Franklin County, Kansas and the 4th Judicial District Community Corrections to become effective December 1, 2007, to expire February 28, 2011.
