BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

  1. CALL TO ORDER

  3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

  4. INVOCATION:  Led by Pastor Larry Carrier with Ottawa Bible Church.

  5. CORRESPONDENCE & ORGANIZATIONAL BUSINESS

  6. PUBLIC COMMENT:  A citizen desiring to speak on an item not on the agenda may do so at this time.  Discussion is limited to five minutes and the Commission will not take action or discuss items at this time.  Items introduced under “Public Comment” may become agenda items at a later date.

  7. CONSENT AGENDA:  Items listed on the “Consent Agenda” are considered routine and shall be enacted by one motion of the Board of Commissioners with no separate discussion.  If separate discussion is desired by a member of the Governing Body, that item may be removed from the “Consent Agenda” and placed on the regular agenda “Items of Business.”

    1. Consider the approval of the minutes of the County Commission meeting of August 27, 2008.

    2. Consider the approval of claim vouchers and tax change orders.

    3. Consider the approval of payroll for the pay period beginning July 21st and ending August 20th.

  8. ITEMS OF BUSINESS:  Items of business includes all timed items, bids, contracts and agreements, public hearings and organizational business coming before the Governing Body.

    1. Receive an update on the Bea Martin Peck Animal Shelter from Dee Shaffer, Administrative Director.

    2. Consider the approval of an emergency preparedness contract between the Franklin County Health Department and the Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE).

    3. Consider the approval of an agreement between the Franklin County Ambulance Department and Johnson County Community College for field intern ride alongs.

    4. Consider declaring three computers to be surplus property and donating the computers to the Franklin County Historical Society.

    5. Consider naming a delegate and alternate delegate to represent Franklin County at the Kansas Workers Risk Cooperative for Counties (KWORC) annual meeting in Wichita on Monday, November 17, 2008.

    6. Consider the approval of a renewal questionnaire for the Kansas County Association Multiline Pool (KCAMP) for 2009.

    7. Consider the approval of an amendment to Resolution 06-076, restricting the concealed carry of weapons on county premises.
