  5. CORRESPONDENCE & ORGANIZATIONAL BUSINESS

    1. 8:30 a.m. - Receive an update from Kansas Treasurer Dennis McKinney.

    2. 9:00 a.m. - Receive a legislative update from State Senator Derek Schmidt.

  6. PUBLIC COMMENT:  A citizen desiring to speak on an item not on the agenda may do so at this time.  Discussion is limited to three minutes and the Commission will not take action or discuss items at this time.  Items introduced under “Public Comment” may become agenda items at a later date.

  7. CONSENT AGENDA:  Items listed on the “Consent Agenda” are considered routine and shall be enacted by one motion of the Board of Commissioners with no separate discussion.  If separate discussion is desired by a member of the Governing Body, that item may be removed from the “Consent Agenda” and placed on the regular agenda “Items of Business.”

    1. Consider the approval of the minutes of the Franklin County Commission meetings of March 25, 30 and April 6, 2009.

    2. Consider the approval of claim vouchers and tax change orders.

    3. Consider the approval of payroll for the pay period beginning February 21, 2009 and ending March 20, 2009.

  8. ITEMS OF BUSINESS:  Items of business includes all timed items, bids, contracts and agreements, public hearings and organizational business coming before the Governing Body.

    1. Consider the approval of a Proclamation establishing the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month and declaring April 22nd as Child Abuse Awareness Blue Day.

    2. Consider the approval of recommendation to relocate an ambulance from Ottawa Station #1 to the North Ottawa Fire Station.

    3. Consider the approval of a renewal agreement with Rocky Mountain Offender Management Systems, LLC to provide electronic monitoring surveillance for Franklin County.

Consider the approval of Rezoning Application #0901-906 to rezone approximately 31.70 acres from an R-E, Residential Estate District, to an A-2, Transitional Agricultural District, and consider the approval of Special Use Permit #0902-914 for the operation of a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Office facility located on the east side of Idaho Road between Shawnee Road and Riley Road.
