BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Board of Commissioners met in a regular session with Chairman John E. Taylor and Commissioners Fred E. Ferguson, Donald C. Hay, Donald R. Stottlemire and Donald E. Waymire present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taylor at 8:30.
Gwen Brecheisen interviewed for the Planning Board.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve the minutes for September 17, 2003. All voted “yes.”
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Ferguson seconded to approve payroll change 03-363 for Lael Richardson in the Auto Department. All voted “yes.”
Blaine Finch discussed that he has talked to the City about making a parking lot on a piece of property of Cedar St. owned by Mr. Roberts, he said we would have to follow guidelines for a parking lot as far as the surface of the lot.
Harold Fuller interviewed for the Planning Board.
Board discussed interviews for the Planning Board.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to appoint Gwen Brecheisen to the Franklin County Planning Commission for a three year term. All voted “yes.”
Larry Walrod discussed the Underwood property located at K-68 & I-35. Larry said a drilling operation company would like to locate at this site. Larry said the property would need to be zoned industrial and property is zoned commercial. This type of operation would not be allowed in commercial zoning with a special use permit.
Troy with Arrowhead Roofing in about helping Wilma Bushnell a COF client with re-roofing her house. Troy said that some of the local business owners are helping with the material and he is providing some labor. He asked if the County would help out on the dumping fees at the Transfer Station. Board asked Blaine Finch to talk to Ms. Bushnell’s mentor at COF and to Bob Thompson at the Transfer Station.
Commissioner Hay said he received a phone call about US 59 Highway and access to property on both sides of the road for the farmers.
Board went out front of the Courthouse and discussed the condition of the steps, sidewalks and building.
Board and Shari Perry left at 10:15 to view Tennessee Rd. from K-68 Highway to Peoria, Rock Creek Rd., Jackson Rd. East of Vermont Rd. to the county line, Jackson Rd. West of Vermont Rd. to Texas Rd. and South to Hamilton Rd., West on Hamilton Rd. and North on Tennessee Rd. and West on Haskell Rd and North on Oregon Rd.
Board back at Courthouse at 11:50.
With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 11:50.
