BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

The Board of Commissioners met in a special session with Chairman John E. Taylor and Commissioners Fred E. Ferguson, Donald C. Hay and Donald E. Waymire present.  

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Taylor at 1:00.

Darrell Wadkins said he called five companies about bids for the chiller unit in the Jail and Juvenile Detention and has not heard back from anyone.  The cost to replace the compressor is $12,000 and a new 30 ton unit is $33,900.  Board discussed if they would have a new compressor put in and in a few months something else goes wrong, it would be a waste of money, parts of the unit are over 22 years old. 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to purchase a new Carrier 30 ton chiller unit from A & H for a cost of $33,900.  All voted “yes.”

With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 1:10.
