BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The Board of Commissioners met in a regular session with Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire and Commissioners Roy C. Dunn, Donald C. Hay, John E. Taylor and Donald E. Waymire present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stottlemire at 8:30.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to approve the minutes for May 4, 2005. All voted “yes.”
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve tax orders 2004-198 through 2004-201. All voted “yes.”
Blaine Finch discussed that Mr. James modular house is still located on the property. The next step would be for the County to remove the house. Larry Walrod stated Mr. James has moved semi-trailers around the house to make it difficult to remove the house.
Larry Walrod discussed House Substitute for Senate Bill #24 dealing with annexation.
Larry Walrod discussed rezoning application filed by Dennis Wray to rezone approximately 10 acres from A-1 to R-E. The property is located near the intersection of Georgia Terr. and Thomas Rd. on the South side of Thomas Rd. and on the West side of Georgia Terr. Larry stated the Planning Commission recommended approval.
Commissioner Dunn moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to approve Resolution No. 05-45 rezoning approximately 10 acres located in Section 23, Township 15, Range 18 owned by Dennis Wray from A-1 to R-E. All voted “yes.”
Larry Walrod discussed rezoning application filed by Robert Foster to rezone approximately 15 acres from A-1 to R-E. The property is located on the North side of Old Highway 50 approximately ¼ mile West of Idaho Rd. Larry stated the Planning Commission recommended approval.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve Resolution No. 05-46 rezoning approximately 15 acres located in Section 2, Township 18, Range 18 owned by Robert Foster from A-1 to R-E. All voted “yes.”
Board recessed at 9:40 until 10:00.
Jim Haag and Weldon Padgett discussed Montana Road cooperative effort to improve Montana Rd. from Sand Creek Rd. intersection to the South ramp terminals of the interchange with relocated US 59.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to support the joint effort between the City of Ottawa and the County to improve Montana Rd. All voted “yes.”
Jim Haag requested to publish a solicitation of bids for the 2004 CHIP Project for 35.5 miles of hard surface.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to approve a solicitation of bids for 35.5 miles of Double Bituminous Surface Treatment or 2” BM-2 Asphalt Overlay. All voted “yes.”
Jim Haag discussed bids received for 200 flexible delineators.
Commissioner Waymire moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to accept the low bid from J & A Traffic Products for 200 flexible delineators in the amount of $2,620. All voted “yes.”
With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 10:25.
