BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

 

The Board of Commissioners met in a regular session with Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire and Commissioners Roy C. Dunn, Donald C. Hay and Donald E. Waymire present.  Commissioner John E. Taylor absent. 

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stottlemire at 8:30.

 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to approve the minutes for May 16, 2005.  All voted “yes.”

 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to approve tax orders 2004-210 through 2004-214.  All voted “yes.”

 

Ron Henrickson discussed contracts for professional services to perform an audit of the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2004.  Ron stated the committee recommends Lowenthal, Singleton, Webb & Wilson.

 

Commissioner Waymire moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to accept the recommendation and contract with Lowenthal, Singleton, Webb & Wilson to perform an audit of the financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2004 at a cost of $23,000.  All voted “yes.”

 

Alan Radcliffe discussed meeting on foreign animal disease.

 

Chairman Stottlemire opened a public hearing at 9:00 to consider the adoption of the 2003 International Fire Code.

 

Larry Walrod discussed when Resolution 05-30 was adopted unfortunately reference to the 2003 International Fire Code was not included in the resolution of adoption nor in the legal notice as required by law.

 

Commissioner Hay moved to continue the public hearing in 60 days, so rural fire departments and residents have a longer time to consider the adoption.  Died for lack of second.

 

Commissioner Dunn moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to continue the public hearing for the adoption of the 2003 International Fire Code until June 22 at 9:00.  All voted “yes.”

 

Carrol Droddy of 4069 Montana Rd. asked if Taylor Design Group was retained to oversee the blacktop work on the 36 mile plan.  Chairman Stottlemire said “yes.”  Carroll ask why our employees in the road department were not considered, we have some capable employees that are being over looked and they could save the county some money.

 

Ron Henrickson stated it is common to outsource one time projects.

 

Chairman Stottlemire recessed the meeting at 9:36 until 12:00 for the monthly joint luncheon in the basement of the Jail.  Attending the luncheon was: Don Waymire, Ron Henrickson, Weldon Padgett, Richard Jackson, Scott Bird, Cleon Rickel, Rhiannon Ross, Shari Perry, Jeanny Sharp, Rocky Fleer-Husted, Dale Watts, Louis Reed, Bill Allegre, Jan Collins, Gene Ramsey, Deb Henningsen and Blake Jorgensen.

 

With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 12:30.
