BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

The Board of Commissioners met in a regular session with Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire and Commissioners Donald C. Hay, John E. Taylor and Donald E. Waymire present.  Commissioner Roy C. Dunn attending Allies Day.  

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stottlemire at 8:30.

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to approve the minutes for June 1, 2005.  Chairman Stottlemire and Commissioners Hay and Taylor voted “yes.”  Commissioner Waymire abstained.

Commissioner Waymire moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to transfer $632,800 from the General Fund CHIP Program to the CHIP Reserve Fund.  All voted “yes.”

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to accept the resignation of Carol Tawney as the Pottawatomie Township Clerk.  All voted “yes.”

Board asked Shari Perry to advertise for letters of interest for the vacant position of Pottawatomie Township Clerk.

John Fletcher of 45 Timberlake Rd. gave a brief of his background and asked to be appointed to the Pottawatomie Township Clerk position.

Chairman Stottlemire read a thank you card received from the Youth in Government for the donation of money.

Recessed at 8:55 until 9:30.

Hershel Poor discussed the amount of money that the State sends to the Federal Government and how much the State gets back in return.

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve tax orders 2004-220 through 2004-223.  All voted “yes.”

Board discussed roads and damage from heavy rains.

Diane Drake and staff from the Franklin County Mental Health Clinic discussed Adult Support Services.

Recessed at 10:35 until 1:00.  Board attended the Allies Day luncheon.

Board, Alan Radcliffe, Blaine Finch, Shari Perry, Dale Watts and Bob McClay meet at Pork Chop Hill on Texas Rd. between Stafford and Thomas Roads to discuss the radio communication tower that is proposed on the Rural Water District #1 site.

With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 2:00.
