BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire called the meeting to order at 8:30 and asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll Call: Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire present, Commissioner John E. Taylor present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, Commissioner Roy C. Dunn present and Commissioner Donald E. Waymire present.

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve the minutes as amended for July 11, 2005.  All voted “yes.”

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to adopt the agenda with the addition of 11.1 Waive bidding policy for air conditioner compressor.  All voted “yes.”

Commissioner Dunn moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve the consent agenda item 8.1 approval of USD 290 contract for Criminal Justice Class in the amount of $30,258 and 8.2 approval of the fiscal year 2006 budget summary and budget narrative for the Kansas Department of Corrections in the amount of $334,872.98.  All voted “yes.”

Item 11.1 Ron Henrickson discussed receiving two bids for an air conditioner compressor for the District Court Building.  One bid from A & H for $4,400 and the other bid from H & H for $5,800.

Commissioner Waymire moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to waive the purchasing policy and award A & H the bid for a compressor for an air conditioner unit at the District Court Building and authorize the County Administrator to sign agreement.  All voted “yes.”

Chairman Stottlemire recessed the meeting at 9:25 until 12:00 for the monthly department head luncheon.  Attending the luncheon was Ed Taylor, Don Waymire, Don Stottlemire, Don Hay, Ron Henrickson, Ethel Wallace, Keith Clark, Shari Perry, Craig Davis, Darrell Wadkins, Jason Parks, Doug George, Audra Seyler, Sue McCay, Debbie Hough, Dale Watts, Larry Walrod, Alan Radcliffe, Rick Sawin, Jim Haag, Blaine Finch, Donna Shead and Steve Brown.

With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 12:35.
