BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire called the meeting to order at 6:30 and asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call: Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire present, Commissioner John E. Taylor present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, Commissioner Roy C. Dunn present and Commissioner Donald E. Waymire present.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to approve the minutes for July 18, 2005. All voted “yes.”
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to approve tax change orders 2004-243 through 2004-250. All voted “yes.”
Juanita Peckman 4567 Marshall Rd. asked about the article in the paper about the City of Ottawa requesting control of the K-68 corridor. Board said they had received no notice from the City.
Ralph Finch 2136 Sand Creek Rd. with Over the Road Gang asked about using the Courthouse lawn on September 18 for the car show. Board agreed it was alright and asked Ralph to talk to Darrell Wadkins about their plans and kept Darrell informed. Ralph asked about CASA having a playhouse and Board asked him to contact Sara Caylor.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to adopt the agenda. All voted “yes.”
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve the consent agenda item 8.1 accept resignation of Don Schamle from Franklin County Board of Zoning Appeals and Reappoint George Alexander, item 8.2 approve a solicitation of bids to repair bridge 18.5-18.0 at 3815 Oregon Rd., item 8.3 approve solicitation of bids for CMK for Chip Seal for 2005, item 8.4 approve solicitation of bids for Application of Chip Seal for 2005 and item 8.8 approve solicitation of bids for Chip Seal Oil for 2005. All voted “yes.”
Item 10.1 Craig Davis discussed a patrol car that was totaled in an accident. Craig recommended purchasing a 2003 Ford Crown Vic at a cost of $12,750 from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Commissioner Dunn moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to purchase a 2003 Ford Crown Vic from the Kansas Highway Patrol at a cost of $12,750 to replace a 2003 Ford Crown Vic that was totaled in an accident. All voted “yes.”
Ron Henrickson discussed that the CHIP Committee had questions about Vermont Rd. and the cap on the agreement with KOCH on what they spend during the guarantee.
With no further discussion the meeting was adjourned at 7:10.
