BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

 

Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:  Chairman Donald R. Stottlemire, present; Commissioner John E. Taylor, absent; Commissioner Donald C. Hay, present; Commissioner Roy C. Dunn, present and Commissioner Donald E. Waymire, present

 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to approve the minutes as amended for September 19, 2005.  All voted in favor.

 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to approve tax change orders 2004-280 and 2004-281.  All voted in favor.

 

Blaine Finch gave the board a copy of a letter from Mark Bennett regarding the Clerk’s preparation of the minutes and provided a copy of the Miami County minutes.

 

Weldon Harrod, 336 Willow, commented on the minutes and Board accountability.

 

Cheri Kirkland, 2532 Douglas Road, commented on the minutes.

 

Kenneth Dodds, 631 North Oak, commented on reorganization.

 

Freone Hollinger, 3090 Neosho Road, commented on the Board’s action to not increase their salaries.

 

Sharri Allred, 675 Iowa Road, commented on the Clerk’s letter in the newspaper.

 

Joann Hancock, 101 Main, Pomona, commented on the Clerk’s letter in the newspaper.

 

Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to adopt the agenda with the addition of 10.1 for additional public comment.  All voted in favor.

 

Item 10.1--Additional public comment

 

Cheri Kirkland, 2532 Douglas Road, commented on the cost of the Administration and Human Resources Departments.

 

Freone Hollinger, 3090 Neosho Road, commented on the need to work together, the hospital sales tax, and recreation.

 

Joann Hancock, 101 Main, Pomona, commented on recreation and the Clerk’s letter in the newspaper.

 

Weldon Harrod, 336 Willow, commented on the O.R.C.

 

Cheri Kirkland, 2532 Douglas Road, commented on who pays taxes.

 

Ron Henrickson said he received the audit report and delivered copies to the Board.  Individuals could view a copy in the Administration Office or purchase a copy for about $20.

 

Chairman Stottlemire recounted his day of events and read the calendar for the next week’s events.

 

Commissioner Hay was attending the ECKAN meeting and training this week.  Commissioner Hay supported the Clerk’s comments.

 

With no further comments, the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
