BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Chair Karen S Farrell called the meeting to order at 9:15 a.m.
Roll Call: Chair Karen S Farrell present, Commissioner Donald R. Stottlemire present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, Commissioner John E. Taylor present and Commissioner Roy C Dunn present.
Dan Rowe with Treanor Architects discussed assessment and site report on the Franklin County Justice Facilities.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Stottlemire seconded to go into an executive session for 10 minutes at 10:00 for security matters with Board, Lisa Johnson, Heather Jones, Ethel Wallace and Treanor Architects present. All voted “yes”. Board extended the executive session at 10:00 for 5 additional minutes. Chair Farrell opened the meeting at 10:13 and reported no action taken, no decisions made.
Board recessed at 10:15. Board and Clerk toured COF facilities and had lunch with them. Back in session at 1:00.
Jim Haag discussed staffing in the Public Works Department.
Board discussed proposed 2009 Public Works budget.
Jeanne Kelly with State Employee Health Benefits Plan discussed the State of Kansas health insurance plans.
Nick Robbins discussed January through June average calls for 2007 and 2008, number of Ambulance out at any given time and length of time spent on move-ups to Tennessee Rd from the Wellsville Station. Commissioner Stottlemire presented a letter from the Wellsville Bank offering a $5,000 gas card to keep the Ambulance Station in Wellsville.
Board recessed at 2:47. Back in session at 3:00.
Board discussed 2009 Employee Benefit budget.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to place the proposed 2009 county budget on the agenda to set a public hearing. All voted “yes”.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Dunn seconded to adjourn at 3:50. All voted “yes”.
