BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair Ed Taylor called the study session to order at 8:30 a.m.  Commissioner Hay absent.

Dotson Bradbury gave update on Unified School District 287 including legislative session, enrollment, free meals, staff, budget, mill rates, vocational funded programs, extended learning opportunities, grant initiatives 08-09, cooperative initiatives, education jargon and funding challenges.

Craig Davis discussed grant application for stimulus monies to aid in the implementation of the New World Systems.  It is a co-operative grant including the city and county.

Rick Sawin discussed agreement with KDOT for Noxious Weed Control on state right-of-ways.

Jim Haag discussed design and construction observation requirements for the John Brown Overlay Project.

Board asked that test samples be done first on the 5 miles of John Brown Overlay Project.

Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed concerns on John Brown from Kentucky Rd to Old 50 Highway.

With no further discussion the study session was adjourned at 9:15.
