BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Chair John E Taylor called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Roll Call: Chair John E Taylor present, Vice Chair Donald R. Stottlemire present, Commissioner Karen S Farrell present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, and Commissioner David J Hood present.
Chair John E Taylor asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Invocation led by Chairman Taylor.
2008 Service Awards were presented as follows:
5 years: Kristi Good, Keith Clark, Danielle Paris, Debbie Hahner, Deann Farrell and Lael Seaton. Not present was: Sarah Hollon, Jordan Powell, Peggy Pearson and Colleen Butell.
10 years: Sarah Peffley, Robin Wright, Julie Furst, Garren Anderson, Jim Branam, Dana Hermreck, Ruth Zumbrum, Travis Altic and Jody Edwards. Not present was: Curtis Hall and Dana White.
15 years: Vicki Matile and Jimmie Dean
25 years: Shari Perry and James Schulz
30 years: Debbie Hough and Brad Gilges
Board recessed at 8:41 for a reception. Back in session at 9:00.
Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed statements made last week concerning school resource officers and Juvenile Detention Center.
Commissioner Hood moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: minutes for April 29, 2009, claim vouchers dated April 29, 2009 in the amount of $1,250.46 and tax change orders 2208-246 through 2008-251. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed tax foreclosure proceedings for delinquent taxes.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Hood seconded to approve Resolution No. 09-27 authorizing foreclosure proceedings and the sale of real property for delinquent taxes. All voted “yes”.
Larry Walrod discussed rezoning application #0902-910 for Nancy Weeks and Anita Due to rezone approximately 5 acres from A-1 to RE located at the intersection of Riley Rd and Oregon Rd on the East side of Oregon Rd and on the South side of Riley Rd.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to approve Resolution No. 09-28 rezoning approximately 5 acres from A-1 to RE owned by Nancy Weeks and Anita Due located in Section 11, Township 16, Range 20. All voted “yes”.
Larry Walrod discussed rezoning application #0903-918 for Henry & Mary Morgan to rezone approximately 30 acres from A-1 to A-2 located at the intersection of Allen Rd and Texas Rd on the North side of Allen Rd and on the West side of Texas Rd.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Stottlemire seconded to approve Resolution No. 09-29 rezoning approximately 30 acres from A-1 to A-2 owned by Henry & Mary Morgan located in Section 13, Township 19, Range 20. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed events planned for National County Government Week this week.
Lisa Johnson discussed 2009 Franklin County Summit “Greening Our Future” on May 13th.
Commissioner Hood moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to adjourn at 9:20 a.m. All voted “yes”.
