BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Vice Chair Don Stottlemire called the study session to order at 8:30 a.m.  Chair Taylor absent.

Jim Haag discussed contract with Blevins Asphalt Construction Company who was low bid for 2009 Chip Seal Project.

Jim Haag discussed change order #1 for 2009 Chip Seal Project for CM-L (limestone) cover material for subdivisions instead of CM-K with an increase cost of $20,882.60.

Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed cost of change order #1 and discussed delay of 2009 Chip Seal Project.

Jim Haag discussed soliciting bids to purchase up to 2,000 tons of rock salt.

Jim Haag discussed current US-59 Hwy north of Ottawa and when it might be turned over to the County.

Jim Haag discussed agreement with Kansas Department of Transportation for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) overlay project on John Brown Rd for a 2 inch overlay between Kentucky Rd and Florida Rd.  Jim recommended not approving agreement with KDOT until after bids are received.

Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed that John Brown has had major problems.

Jim Haag discussed selecting a consultant to perform construction observation and bids for the removal of the section corner monuments and reset of the monuments on the John Brown Road Project.

Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed needing a construction observation on John Brown Rd. Project.

Board agreed to have Commissioner Farrell set on the Board to select consultant for John Brown Rd for construction observation.

With no further discussion the study session was adjourned at 9:12.
