BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair John E Taylor called the study session to order at 8:30 a.m.  All present.

Midge Ransom discussed request to renovate the Health Department in order to update the restrooms to ADA requirements and to address the space needs for the Women Infant and Children Program (WIC) and storage.  The State of Kansas will reimburse $4,266 for the WIC remodeling.

Midge discussed a request for a letter of support for the Health Department to participate in the Public Health Accreditation Beta Test process.  The beta test will include attempting to meet the accreditation expectations, providing feedback to the accreditation board, and sharing information on the experience to other health departments across the nation, and participating in a 2-3 day site visit.

Midge Ransom discussed H1N1 concerns and vaccines.

Lisa Johnson discussed Ransom Memorial Hospital mowing the grounds at the Ambulance Station and the County spreading chemical on the hospital parking lot in the winter.

With no further discussion the study session was adjourned at 9:05.
