BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair John E Taylor called the study session to order at 8:30 a.m.  All present.

Kristi Lee, Director of the Franklin County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Tom Weigand discussed the land they purchased around the Visitors Bureau.  They will bring us a copy of the Deed and paper work regarding the transaction.

Keith Clark discussed the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) FY2010 Carryover Reimbursement budget for the Fourth Judicial District community Corrections.  The monies included in this budget are from supervision fees, reimbursements from drug testing confirmations, physicals, evaluations, treatment, housing, and other offender based services.

Midge Ransom discussed the 2009-2010 Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Public Health Emergency Preparedness Grant for the Franklin County Health Department.  The CDC allocates funds for emergency preparedness annually.

Nick Robbins, EMS Chief (ill).  Lisa Johnson discussed a request from the Franklin county EMS Department to solicit bids for a new ambulance.  Due to major changes in the ambulance industry 2010 Ford will no longer make an ambulance chassis with a diesel engine.  The new one will be gas V-10

Jim Haag discussed the 2006 CHIP Project is complete and Change Order #2 and Final is necessary to revise the quantities to those actually placed and the increase due to the asphalt price adjustment. 

Lisa Johnson discussed the contract between Franklin County and the State of Kansas to provide health insurance to Franklin County employees in 2010.   

With no further discussion the study session was adjourned at 9:00.
