BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair John E Taylor called the study session to order at 8:30 a.m. All present.

Midge Ransom discussed an agreement with Provista Group Organization for medical supplies such as syringes.

Midge Ransom discussed contract with the Kansas Department of Health & Environment to provide WIC services which is for limited income expecting mothers and their children.  The contract amount is up to $80,809 plus any reallocated federal funds that may become available.

Jim Haag discussed a request from the City of Wellsville to store up to 100 tons of salt in the County salt shed not to exceed 5 years.

Jim Haag discussed change order #2 and final on the Missouri Rd. Bridge Project in the amount of $484.50 to adjust the quantities for erosion control.

Jim Haag discussed Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Vermont Rd. Bridge Project No. 30C-4149-01.  The Kansas Department of Transportation desires to supplement that agreement by removing the maximum amount of federal funds participating in the project.

Lisa Johnson discussed declaring unused County property as surplus and discussed methods of disposal of the items.

Lisa Johnson discussed notifying VSP-vision benefit of policy cancellation effective January 1, 2010 and notifying Delta Dental of policy cancellation and agree to compensate Delta Dental for processing run out claims for a period of up to 6 months and notifying BCBS of policy cancellation and agree to compensate BCBS for processing run out claims from January – March 2010.

Lisa Johnson discussed acceptance of Grant Award under the FY09 Recovery Act Rural Law Enforcement Assistance in the amount of $379,998.  This grant will be for terminals in each patrol vehicle including the Ottawa Police Department and Wellsville Police Department.
