BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Chair David J Hood called the regular meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
Roll Call: Chair David J Hood present, Vice Chair John E Taylor present, Commissioner Karen S Farrell present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, and Commissioner Donald R Stottlemire present.
Chair David J Hood asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Invocation led by Pastor Jerry Strobbe with Community Foursquare Church.
No public comment.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to approve the consent agenda as follows: minutes for February 24, 2010 and March 1, 2010, claim vouchers dated February 28, 2010 in the amount of $125,633.28 and tax change orders 2009-185 through 2009-189 and 2009-191 and 2009-194. All voted “yes” except Commissioner Taylor abstained on the minutes for February 28th and Commissioner Farrell abstained on the minutes for March 1, 2010.
Lisa Johnson discussed the Health Department revised fee schedule.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to approve the Health Department revised fee schedule. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed the January monthly Ambulance Department report.
Commissioner Farrell moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to approve the write-off for the Ambulance Department for the month of January in the amount of $19,669.54 and to send $18,845.25 to the State set-off program. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed the 2010 Spring Clean-Up.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Hay seconded to approve roll offs free of charge on April 15th through April 17th and April 19th and April 20th and free dumping for the public on April 23rd and April 24th from 8 am to 3 pm. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed solicitation of bids for a backhoe for the Transfer Station.
Commissioner Farrell moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to authorize the solicitation of bids for a backhoe for the Transfer Station. All voted “yes”.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to waive the publication of the solicitation of bids for a backhoe for the Transfer Station and send it to four vendors. All voted “yes”.
Jim Haag discussed an agreement with Lee Butler to store Cedar Street Pavement Debris on property that Mr. Butler owns at 3325 Nebraska Rd at a cost of $100 per month.
Commissioner Hay moved and Commissioner Stottlemire seconded to approve storage agreement with Lee Butler. All voted “yes”.
Lisa Johnson discussed contract with Mid-Continental Restoration Co for the exterior repairs to the Franklin County Jail.
Commissioner Farrell moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to approve a contract with Mid-Continental Restoration Co for exterior repairs to the Franklin County Jail in the amount of $11,950. All voted “yes”.
Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to adjourn at 8:52 a.m. All voted “yes”.
