BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair David J Hood called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Chair David J Hood present, Vice Chair John E Taylor present, Commissioner Karen S Farrell present, Commissioner Donald C. Hay present, and Commissioner Donald R Stottlemire present.

Lisa Johnson gave a 2011 budget presentation including revenue sources, valuation, general fund expenditures, public works expenditures, ambulance expenditures, employee benefit expenses and outside agencies expenses.

Chair Hood opened the 2011 budget hearing at 6:13.

Gene Hirt 125 South St Williamsburg discussed public transportation services and need.

Elia McCaslin 701 S Poplar Ottawa discussed the blessing of public transportation.

Don Higdon 1789 Georgia Rd Williamsburg discussed public transportation and meals on wheels.

Freone Hollinger 3090 Neosho Rd Ottawa discussed legal notice in paper not being large enough to read, public transportation, road system and the mowing of ditches.

Brad Heathman 1414 S Mulberry Ottawa discussed the increase in the commission budget.

With no additional comments Chair Hood closed the public hearing at 6:29.

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to adopt the 2011 County budget as submitted with an ad valorem tax of $11,692,138.  Chair Hood and Commissioner Farrell, Stottlemire and Taylor voted “yes”.  Commissioner Hay voted “no”.

Lisa Johnson discussed the Sheriff budget and the commission budget including Juvenile Jury Trial expenses and indigent funeral expenses.

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Farrell seconded to adjourn at 6:32 p.m.  All voted “yes”.
