BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Chair John E Taylor called the reorganization meeting to order at 10:30 a.m.

Roll Call: Chair John E Taylor present, Vice Chair Donald R Stottlemire present, Commissioner Steven W Harris absent, Commissioner David J Hood present, and Commissioner Colton M Waymire present.

Chair Taylor asked all in attendance to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Invocation led by Chair Taylor.

Commissioner Stottlemire moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to appoint David J Hood as Chair of the Franklin County Commission for 2012.  All voted “yes” except Commissioner Hood abstained.

Chair Hood took over the meeting.

Commissioner Stottlemire moved to appoint Commissioner Harris as Vice Chair.  Commissioner Harris not being present and Lisa Johnson stating that she knew he would not take the Chairman position but didn’t know about Vice Chair.  Commissioner Stottlemire withdrew his motion.

Commissioner Stottlemire moved to appoint Commissioner Taylor as Vice Chair.  Commissioner Taylor wouldn’t accept appointment.  Commissioner Stottlemire withdrew his motion.

Commissioner Stottlemire moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to appoint Colton M Waymire as Vice Chair of the Franklin County Commission for 2012.  All voted “yes” except Commissioner Waymire abstained.

Commissioner Stottlemire moved and Commissioner Taylor seconded to establish regular meetings for the commission as every Wednesday at 8:30 and study sessions of the commission on every other Monday.  All voted “yes”.

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to appoint County Commissioners to the following Boards:

Chair Hood to East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging (ECKAAA Advisory Council.

Commissioner Harris to East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN).

Commissioner Stottlemire to Lake Region Committee Representative.

Commissioner Waymire to Neighborhood Revitalization Board.

Commissioner Waymire to Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Board Meetings.

Chair Hood to Ottawa/Franklin County Economic Development (O/FCED) Board.

Commissioner Taylor to Ransom Memorial Hospital Board Meetings.

Commissioner Stottlemire to Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Board.

Commissioner Stottlemire to Wellsville Chamber of Commerce Board Meetings.

All voted “yes”.

Commissioner Taylor moved and Commissioner Waymire seconded to adjourn at 10:38 a.m.  All voted “yes”.
