BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS
RESOLUTION NO. 05-59
WHEREAS, the intersection of Delaware Road with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks between Sections 4 and 5, Township 17S, Range 18E in rural Franklin County, Kansas, has been determined to be a hazardous crossing by the Kansas Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Kansas Department of Transportation recommends that appropriate stop signs should be erected in the interim until active warning devices are installed by the railroad; now, therefore,
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED
BY
THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY
THAT the Franklin County Public Works Department be directed to erect stop signs for the northbound traffic on Delaware Road at approximately 2975 Delaware Road and for the southbound traffic on Delaware Road at approximately 3025 Delaware Road at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks causing vehicular traffic to stop in both directions at said railroad tracks; and, further,
THAT said stop signs be placed, erected, and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, including any "Stop Ahead" signs that may be required under said manual.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect following its passage by the Board of County Commissioners and the actual erection of said signs in accordance with the provisions of this Resolution.
WHEREUPON, the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County, Kansas, passes and adopts this Resolution in regular session, at its chambers in Ottawa, Franklin County, Kansas, this 27th day of June, 2005.
