A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE POLICY REGARDING OUTDOOR WARNING SIRENS IN INCORPORATED AREAS OF THE COUNTY
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 19-101, provides that a county may exercise the powers of home rule to determine its local affairs and government authorization under the provisions of K.S.A. 19-101a; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
BY
THE BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
That the following resolution establishes the official policy of Franklin County in regard to outdoor warning sirens located within incorporated areas of the County.
The County shall not maintain, install or replace outdoor warning siren equipment within the incorporated areas of the County. The County shall either activate the existing sirens by remote or give notice by VHF radio to those jurisdictions that do not have remote access for their emergency sirens.
This Resolution shall be in full force and effect following its adoption and publication in the official county newspaper.
