RESOLUTION NO. 07-035      

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A ROAD NAME, INDIANA DRIVE, FOR AN EXISTING COUNTY ROAD LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF INDIANA ROAD AND NINTH STREET IN THE TOWNSITE OF CENTROPOLIS, KANSAS IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER (NW ¼) OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER (SW ¼) OF SECTION 30, TOWNSHIP 15 SOUTH, RANGE 19 EAST, FRANKLIN COUNTY KANSAS.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County Kansas has the authority to layout, alter or discontinue any road within the unincorporated area of the County including such other duties deemed necessary regarding such roads as provided by law; and

WHEREAS, Franklin County has established a road name and addressing system for all residential, commercial, industrial and public building sites within the unincorporated area of Franklin County; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Planning and Zoning for Franklin County is required to assign addresses for each building site located in the unincorporated areas of Franklin County; and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that an existing County Road was not named and addressing for new building sites along this road is not possible until said road is appropriately named.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners does hereby establish the name of Indiana Drive for the County Road extending Southwesterly from the intersection of Indiana Road and Ninth Street in the Townsite of Centropolis Kansas in the Northwest Quarter (NW ¼) of the Southwest Quarter (SW ¼) of Section 30, Township 15 South, Range 19 East Franklin County Kansas.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners this 6^th day of June 2007.  This action shall become effective upon publication of this resolution in the official county newspaper.
