RESOLUTION NO. 07-047
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A BUILDING FUND AND ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL MILL LEVY FOR THE BUILDING FUND.
WHEREAS, under K.S.A. 19-15,116 the Board of County Commissioners may levy an annual tax for a period not to exceed 10 years for the purpose of creating a building fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the levy is necessary to maintain the County buildings.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ESTABLISH A BUILDING FUND AS FOLLOWS:
1. The annual tax levy not to exceed two mills for a period not to exceed ten (10) years from January 1, 2008, upon all taxable tangible property in the County for the purpose of creating a building fund in the amount of $400,000.00 for the purpose of construction, alternation, repair and/or remodeling of County Buildings of Franklin County, Kansas; and;
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners this 18th day of July 2007. This action shall become effective upon publication of this resolution in the official county newspaper subject to the protest period provided by K.S.A. 19-15,116.
