RESOLUTION NO. 08-028
A RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTION #05-30 SECTION 5 AND APPROVING A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A REVISED FEE SCHEDULE FOR BUILDING PERMITS
WHEREAS, Franklin County Kansas is a Municipal County Government, which has adopted the 2003 Edition of the International Building Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 5 of Resolution #05-30 did establish a Fee Schedule as provided by Section R-108 of the Building Code; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the current Fee Schedule as directed by the Board of County Commissioners and has recommended a new Fee Schedule which better reflects the actual costs of administering building permit and conducting required inspections; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has considered the amended Fee Schedule for building permits and finds the proposed Fee Schedule to be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners does hereby adopt an amended Fee Schedule for Building Permits as follows:
Section R.108.2 is hereby amended
Building permit fees shall be calculated based on the following table and are not refundable.
SINGLE FAMILY STRUCTURES/ADDITIONS
Garages, decks and patios $ 75.00
Additions (less than 500 sq. ft) $100.00
Additions (between 500 sq. ft and 1,000 sq. ft) $150.00
Additions (over 1,000 sq. ft) $175.00
Single-wide Mobile Home $200.00
Less than 2,000 sq. ft. total finished living space $300.00
Between 2,000 and 4,000 sq. ft. total finished living space $450.00
Over 4,000 sq. ft. total finished living space $700.00
Re-inspections $ 30.00
Remodel $ 75.00
Demolition $ 25.00
Swimming Pool $ 50.00
Building without a building permit (fines) $150.00
Unfinished basement $ 60.00
Time Extension ½ the cost of the original permit not to exceed $125.00
Finished basements are calculated as part of the living space
