BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS
RESOLUTION NO. 08-056
WHEREAS, the intersection of Vermont Road and Howard Lane in rural Franklin County, Kansas, is formed by the convergence of a major north-south road, viz Vermont Road, and a minor east-west road, viz. Howard Lane; and
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 8-2002, authorizes local authorities, including counties, to designate any highway as a through highway or designate any intersection or junction of roadways as a stop or yield intersection or junction, and
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 8-2008, authorizes local authorities to erect and maintain stop signs, yield signs, or other official traffic-control devices upon highways under their jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, Section 2B.05 B, of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, provides for the placement of a stop sign where a street entering a through highway or street; and
IT IS THEREFORE recommended that a stop sign for eastbound traffic on Howard Lane be installed at the intersection of Vermont Road and Howard Lane.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF
FRANKLIN COUNTY,
KANSAS
THAT the Board of County Commissioners hereby directs that a stop sign for eastbound traffic on Howard Lane be installed at the intersection of Vermont Road and Howard Lane.
This resolution shall be in full force and effect following its adoption and publication in the official county newspaper, and the actual installation of the aforedescribed stop sign.
