RESOLUTION   09 -18

 

            A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING NEW FEE SCHEDULE FOR MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE

 

WHEREAS, K.S.A. 19-101, provides that a county may exercise the powers of home rule to determine its local affairs and government authorization under the provisions of K.S.A. 19-101a; and

 

WHEREAS, the County, pursuant to the contract with Hamm’s for the disposal of municipal solid waste, has received an increase in the contract price.  In addition, the County has experienced an increase in other operational costs and a decrease in revenues.  Based on these factors the Commission finds that it is necessary at this time for an increase in the fees charged by the County for municipal solid waste; and;

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners believes that this is in the best interests of the County adopt a new fee schedule effective October 1, 2009.

 

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED

  THE BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,

 

That the following resolution shall establish the fee schedule for the Franklin County Transfer Station effective October 1, 2009:

 

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT FEES

 

            MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE                           $ 38.00 per ton

                                                                                       Minimum  $ 8.00

           

            CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION LANDFILL        $ 28.00 per ton

           

TIRES             Passenger                                             $ 2.50

                                    Passenger on rim                                  $ 5.00

                                    Truck                                                   $ 7.00

                                    Truck on rim                                         $ 15.00

                                    Tractor (no rims)                                  $ 25.00

 

This Resolution rescinds and replaces all other former resolutions relating to fees charged at the Franklin County Transfer Station in Franklin County, Kansas. 

 

This Resolution shall be in full force and effect following its adoption and publication in the official county newspaper.
