A RESOLUTION TO REDEFINE THAT POWERS OF THE EMPLOYEE BENEFIT CONTRIBUTION FUND
WHEREAS, the Franklin County Commission in 1978 established an Employee Benefit Contribution Fund for the years 1979 and subsequent years; and
WHEREAS, the Franklin County Commission want to continue this Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Franklin County, Kansas wished to clearly define the source of funds in the Fund, and where the money can be paid;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS
That, pursuant to K.S.A. 12-16,102 an “Employee Benefit Contribution Fund” is established to be a fund for Franklin County, Kansas employee benefits. The “Fund” may receive funding from taxes and from principle and interest from bonds, and from any other source allowed by statute.
The Fund may be used to pay for the employer’s share of Health Insurance, Social Security and Medicare, KPERS and KP&F, Life Insurance Premiums, Workmen’s Compensation Insurance Premiums and Unemployment Contributions, Employer’s share of any wellness initiative or other legally permissible employee benefit authorized by the Board of County Commissioners and also to reduce or defray any bond issue which has been issued to pay for any of the employee benefits listed above.
This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption by the Board of County Commissioners and replaces Resolution 03-61.
