A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT RATES FOR EMPLOYEES OF FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS
WHEREAS, K.S.A. 19-101, provides that a county may exercise the powers of home rule to determine its local affairs and government authorization under the provisions of K.S.A. 19-101a; and
WHEREAS, the supervision of county employees with regards to personnel rules, regulations, and related administrative procedures and policies is a permissible exercise of home rule power, pursuant to K.S.A. 19-101a; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners recognizes the Kansas Secretary of Administration has the authority, pursuant to K.S.A. 75-3203a, to fix rates of mileage for privately owned conveyances used for official purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners believes that the rates established by the Kansas Secretary of Administration accurately reflect current costs associated with travel; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners believes that adopting the State of Kansas’ mileage rate for privately owned conveyances used for official purposes is in the best interest of County Employees and the County itself;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
BY
THE BOARD OF FRANKLIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS,
That the Board of County Commissioners of Franklin County, Kansas establish Franklin County’s mileage reimbursement rate for privately owned conveyances used for official purposes to be the same as that authorized by the State of Kansas and to adjust accordingly on July 1st of each year to the rate as established by the State of Kansas. This Resolution shall be effective upon adoption by the County Commission.
