FRANKLIN COUNTY, KANSAS

 

RESOLUTION NO. 12-01

 

            A RESOLUTION OF THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR A SALVAGE DEALER REGISTRATION FORM; APPROVING THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION; APPROVING A REGISTRATION FEE IN THE AMOUNT OF $200.00; APPROVING A REGISTRATION RENEWAL FEE IN THE AMOUNT OF $30.00; AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING DIRECTOR TO NOTIFY THOSE INDIVIDUALS BUYING, SELLING OR RECYCLING SCRAP METAL REGULATED BY K.S.A. 50-6 ET. SEQ. OF THE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE PLANNING DIRECTOR TO COLLECT A REGISTRATION FEE AND TO ISSUE SUCH SALVAGE DEALER REGISTRATION UPON APPROVAL BY THE FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

 

            WHEREAS, Franklin County, Kansas is a County municipal government organized pursuant to Kansas Statutes K.S.A. 19-101; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Kansas did adopt House Bill 2312 and amending K.S.A. 50-6,109 et. seq. to require Cities and Counties to register all salvage dealers buying, selling or recycling any scrap material regulated by K.S.A. 50-6, 109 et. seq. within their jurisdiction. 

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners does hereby approve the adoption of a Resolution approving the following:

 

1.      A Scrap Metal Dealer Registration Application Form.

 

2.      A Scrap Metal Dealers Registration Fee in the amount of $200.00 and a Renewal Fee in the amount of $30.00.

 

3.      A Scrap Metal Dealers Official Registration.

 

4.      Authorizing the County Planning Director to notify all persons currently buying, selling or recycling any scrap metal regulated by K.S.A. 50-6, 109 et. seq. of the registration requirement.

 

5.      Authorizing the County Planning Director to collect any required fee and to issue such registration upon approval by the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners.

 

            PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners this 11th day of January 2012.  This action shall become in full force and effect upon publication in the official county newspaper.
