About Energy Management...

The Energy Manager position serves Franklin County, the City of Ottawa and USD 290.  In 2010 Franklin County, the City of Ottawa and USD 290 formed a coalition and successfully applied for grant funds from the Kansas Department of Commerce in order to fund this position and address each entity’s energy use and needs.  The position is responsible for assessing and monitoring the energy and utility use for each entity, performing and maintaining energy assessments for each entity, researching and making recommendations on possible energy saving measures through the use of energy efficient technologies and energy conservation methods, and providing information and education to the public on energy efficiency and conservation.
