About the Sheriff's Office & Jail... The Franklin County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement services to the citizens of Franklin County, Kansas. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office provides service to six of the smaller towns in Franklin County and assistance as needed to the Ottawa and Wellsville Police Departments. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office patrols the 536 square miles of Franklin County on a 24 hour basis. The Sheriff's Office consists of the Administration, Patrol, Detective, Detention and Communications divisions. The Franklin County Adult Detention Facility holds 50-55 inmates daily. Additionally, 20-25 inmates are housed in other facilities daily. The Communications division provides dispatch services to all emergency services within Franklin County. |
