[ARCHIVED] Afghanistan Relief Effort

Afghani project 5

The fall of Kubal, Afghanistan has led to a severe humanitarian crisis. Currently, members of the U.S. Armed Forces are working to provide aid and comfort for an overwhelming number of people that have evacuated. Most evacuees have nothing more than the clothing on their backs and need basic human necessities.

Recently, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office had been in contact with military members who are serving in this relief effort and had learned of the great need for resources to aid Afghani families and children. With short notice, this need was communicated and the Franklin County Community responded in an incredible fashion!

Donated items have been and continue to be boxed up and will be shipped to locations around the world. These materials will help evacuees, in their time of need. The Sheriff’s Office is honored to play a small part in this relief project. The compassion and generosity that has been shown by our community in support of this project, is humbling.

On behalf of the men and women of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, THANK YOU! It is an honor and a privilege to serve.

Sheriff Jeff Richards
